Save the Date Designer

A save the date only needs three things: your names, the date and the city. Edit them below, choose a look that matches your invitations, then download or print your card. Free and no sign-up.

Quick example: Emma & Liam — Sunday, June 14, 2026 — Austin, Texas, with the fixed lines “Save the Date” and “Invitation to follow” built into the design.

Pick the day and the card writes it in full, with the weekday.

Leave this wording as the picker sets it, edit it for a custom style, or clear it to use the picked date automatically.

Pick a theme, then fine-tune with the three colour pickers. Your design saves automatically in this browser.

How it works

The heading “Save the Date” and the closing line “Invitation to follow” are fixed parts of the design. Pick the wedding date with the date picker and WedCalc writes it in full — weekday included — in the card's large date line. You can still edit the date wording by hand if you want a different style, and the city is the only other detail the card needs.

Frequently asked questions

When should we send save the dates?

A common rule of thumb is 6–8 months before the wedding, and 8–12 months if guests will travel a long way or book hotels.

What size is the download?

1500 × 2100 pixels — a 5 × 7 inch card at 300 dpi, ready for home printing or a print shop.

Can the design match our invitations?

Yes. This designer uses the same nine core templates, six themes and four fonts as the Invitation Designer, so matching takes a minute.

Do we need the venue on a save the date?

No. Names, date and city are enough; this card keeps the fixed line “Invitation to follow” for the details.

How do I set the wedding date?

Use the Wedding date picker: choose the day and the card writes it out in full with the correct weekday, for example Monday, June 14, 2027. If you prefer different wording, type it into the date wording box instead; clearing that box returns to the picked date.

Please check before you print or share. Double-check the date before you send or print — it is the one detail guests will put straight into their calendars.
